        Charles Shaver was born in Flint, Michigan with an underdeveloped heart forcing his family to move away from the harsh winters of the Midwest. Charles grew up in Long Beach and Anaheim, California. As a patient at UCLA Medical Center, Charles passed the hours by reading, writing, and drawing. This would later prove great training for the artist. As he grew older, his interests in storytelling and art flourished. He eventually attended several colleges pursuing an education in Fine Arts Painting. 

        In 2003, Charles launched his official website and accompanying electronic magazine (or ezine) If - E - Zine™: The Free Online Magazine of Thrilling Speculative Fiction! A throwback to the days of pulp science fiction, If – E - Zine quickly became a hub for Charles’ creativity. 

        Charles once again resides in Flint, Michigan.
